Hi Lara, I totally agree with you. In fact, Emirati cuisine is a lot influenced by the South Asian cooking and spices. The chai karak is very popular among the Emiratis and it is like a must have at their gatherings along with the Kahwa, and hence tagged it as “Emirati cuisine”, even though the karak is for everyone. In my side, we make our tea with milk and not evaporated milk, and it is interesting to see small variations to make a drink as simple as the chai. Thank you so much for leaving the comment xoxo

Furthermore, chai karak become recently popularized in the last 1-2 decades or so. It literally means ‘strong tea’ in the Hindustani languages and Khariboli dialects (Hindi/Urdu).
This recipe looks delicious and will have to give it a try.
